How the map reads
Four quadrants, two readings, one benchmark
Each dot is a sector fund measured against the S&P 500. Left to right is relative strength against its own recent average; bottom to top is whether that strength is gaining or fading. Sectors tend to travel clockwise, though a sector can turn back or skip a quadrant.
Leading
Stronger than the S&P 500 and still gaining.
Weakening
Still stronger, but losing pace.
Lagging
Weaker, and still losing ground.
Improving
Still weaker, but gaining.
A map of where strength has been. It describes recent relative strength, not where it will go. It is not a forecast and not a trade signal.
The sector strip
Every sector's return, strongest first
Above the map, the strip ranks every sector by its return for the period you pick, from one day to the year so far, each with its quadrant. Click a sector to focus the whole page on it.

Sector rotation questions
What is sector rotation?
Sector rotation is money moving from one part of the stock market to another, so that some sectors beat the S&P 500 while others fall behind. A rotation map shows which sectors are ahead, which are behind, and whether each one is gaining or losing ground.
How do I read a sector rotation map?
Each dot is a sector fund measured against the S&P 500. Right of the centre, its relative strength is above its own recent average; above the centre, that strength is gaining. That gives four quadrants: Leading, Weakening, Lagging and Improving. A tail shows where a sector came from.
Which sectors does MomoEdge track?
The 11 SPDR sector funds plus XRT for retail, each measured against the S&P 500. The same map can also plot asset classes, styles and world markets.
How often does it update?
In the terminal, about every 2 minutes during pre-market and market hours. The free weekly map at /sector-rotation updates every Saturday at 8:00 AM ET with the week's closes.
Is a quadrant a trade signal?
No. The map describes where relative strength has been, not where it will go. Use it to decide where to look, together with your own plan and risk.
